Support Groups
Weekly support groups provide hope
Weekly support groups for people with cancer and their loved ones
Ongoing professionally facilitated support groups for people with cancer and support persons are the heart of our program. Support groups have been shown to decrease distress and improve quality of life. Adult group members of different ages and with different types of cancer come together each week to get support and learn from each other.
Support persons meet to discuss concerns, challenges, and ways to care for themselves while supporting the people they love who have cancer. The first step in joining a weekly support group is to come to a newcomers meeting and set up an appointment for a brief interview.

"Drop-in" networking groups
You may also choose to “drop-in” at a networking support group that meets once or twice monthly or as a time-limited series. Networking groups may be specific to a type of cancer (brain, breast, carcinoid or neuroendocrine, colorectal, gynelogic/ovarian, lung, and prostate). They may also be focused on a specific group such as couples or long-term survivors. Check our program calendar to learn about what groups are available and when.
